DescriptionThis beginner course has been created in order to provide people, who have no prior knowledge or experience in use of GIS an opportunity to implement basic activities and data manipulations in QGIS.
Within this introductory course the participants will be provided with a basic geographical information systems knowledge, including the types of vector data (possible geometries and attributes), concepts of coordinate systems and most applicable web-based GIS services (PostGIS, WM(T)S), learn the QGIS interface and its features, data manipulation tools as well as the most common geometry errors.
The course is organized with a great emphasis on learning-through-doing, therefore any theoretical sections that have been included are very brief and are planned to always be accompanied by practical activities of the participants.
